How passive inheritance works

When two Pals breed, their passives are merged into a shared pool (up to 8 unique skills). The child then randomly inherits 0–4 passives from that pool. The more overlap in the parents' passives (smaller pool), the higher the chance any given passive appears. Stacking the same high-tier passive on both parents doesn't double the pool — it keeps it small and pushes the odds up.

To breed a Pal with all four top passives (Legend, Swift, Ferocious, Musclehead), the ideal parents each carry some of those — a 4-passive pool gives a ~23% chance of landing all four in one try. Starting with parents that together cover 8 different passives cuts that to roughly ~0.3%, requiring far more breedings.

The fastest breeding project: work toward having one intermediate Pal that carries your four target passives, then breed two copies of it — the 23% rate applies. Use the breeding chain calculator to plan the path to that intermediate.
