Game Objective

Uncover the secrets of this mysterious land while taking on the unknown forces who stand in your way. Defeat the bosses that lay claim to each region's tower as you try to uncover the truth behind the origin of Pals. Build formidable bases, try to capture the strongest Pal possible, or breed it yourself! Embark on a unique adventure with your Pals in this new world!

What should I do first?

First, pick up fallen branches and pebbles to gather wood and stone. You can also collect wood and stone by punching big trees and rocks with your bare hands. Build a workbench and craft an axe and a pickaxe to gather resources more efficiently. Once you've gathered enough materials, choose a location for your base, and build a Palbox. Once you place a Palbox, that area becomes your base. As your level increases, make weapons and a Pal Sphere, then start capturing wild Pals by weakening them first. Pals can be combat allies if taken with you, or provide labor if placed in your base. Nighttime can be dangerous. Prepare for your first night by making a campfire, a torch, and a bed.

Pals

Pals are enigmatic creatures that inhabit this region. By capturing one with a sphere, you can make it your companions. Your Pals can be released from the sphere by pressing . You can only carry up to 5 Pals at a time. If you capture more, they will be automatically sent to the Palbox. (You can retrieve them by building a Palbox if you don't have one.)

HUD

Level Up

You and your Pals will level up when you earn enough EXP. You can obtain EXP by defeating or capturing Pals. Additionally, you can earn experience points based on the amount of work during building and crafting. If a Pal's level is higher than yours, you won't be able to handle it well, and its performance will drop to the same level as the player. This performance drop is also known as Level Sync.

Player Status Enhancement

You can distribute Status Points from the Inventory tab in the menu to increase your character's status. Level up your character to get Status Points.

Base

Building a Palbox will make the surrounding area your base. Interacting with the Palbox allows you to summon Pals to your base, and they will perform tasks according to their Work Suitability. By building structures within the base, you can have Pals work for you. Be careful as Pals in the base are exposed to threats from enemies.

Palbox

The area around the Palbox becomes the territory of your guild's base, and any structure built inside it belong to your guild. Clearing Base Missions obtained by interacting with the Palbox will grow the guild's base and increase the number of Pals you can summon in the base. If you keep Pals in the Palbox, they will rest and recover. They will continue to recover even if they're incapacitated. The Palbox has a fast travel function, which can be used to warp to the Great Eagle Statues you've unlocked during your adventures. (Fast travel cannot be used if it's disabled in the world settings.)

Capturing Pals

Press to throw a Pal Sphere at a Pal to try and capture it. Reduce a Pal's Health, afflict it with status effects, or lure it into a trap to increase your chances of capturing it. You can also increase your chances of capturing a Pal by sneaking up on it and throwing a Sphere at it from behind. Craft stronger Spheres to capture powerful Pals.

Pals in Party

You can only have up to 5 Pals at a time. If you capture more, they are automatically sent to the Palbox. This team of up to 5 Pals is called your Party. You can open the Party tab from the menu. Here, you can check the Health, Hunger, etc., of your Pals. You can also check their acquired skills, and switch active skills if they've learned any.

Hunger

Sanity

When Pals do work at a base, their Sanity (SAN) drops. As their SAN drops, they will slack off, or maybe even get sick. If a Pal's Hunger level is low, their SAN will drop more easily. Feed Pals quality food or let them rest in a hot spring to recover their SAN.

Partner Skills

These are unique abilities that each Pal species possesses. Some Pals have Partner Skills that allow them to shoot guns or to have the player ride them. Tower Bosses

Each region has a tower, and within that tower resides the leader of the organization that rules the area. These leaders usually regard Pal Tamers from outside the island as enemies, and will challenge you immediately if you enter the tower. Tower boss battles have a time limit. If you can't defeat the enemy within the given time, you lose. You can attempt tower boss battles as many times as you like, provided no one else is currently doing so.

Crime

If you attack friendly NPCs on the island, you will be reported and become a criminal. Be warned—if someone sees you commit a crime, the Palpagos Islands Defense Force (PIDF) will put you on their wanted list. If you end up on their wanted list, steer clear of officers and hide somewhere out of sight until your wanted status expires.

Equipment Durability

Item Rot

Pal Breeding Farm

Assign a male and a female Pal to a Breeding Farm and place a cake with them. Later, you may find a Pal Egg. Some special combinations of Pals can give birth to special Pal Eggs.

Pal Rank & Essence Condensers

Pals have a rank value, with higher ranks indicating higher abilities. Higher ranks can also enhance Partner Skills. You can increase a Pal's rank using Pal Essence. Pal Essence can be obtained by placing multiple Pals of the same species in the Pal Essence Condenser.

Pal Effigies

You can offer Pal Effigies to a Statue of Power to enhance your various abilities.

Pal Souls

Pal Souls can sometimes be found in treasure chests. You can offer Pal Souls to Statue of Power to enhance a Pal's stats.

Pal Subspecies

Some Pals have been known to adapt to their environment deviating from their species to become a subspecies. Subspecies have a different type from the original, with slightly higher stats. Certain breeding combinations may also result in a subspecies. Subspecies have their own Palpedia entry, allowing you to earn Bonus EXP by capturing 5 of them.

Lucky Pals

Lucky Pals are rare Pals that can be found around the world. They are larger in size and have a radiant appearance. They often have high stats and feature special passive and active skills.

Death

When a player dies, they drop their held items and Party Pals on the spot. You can retrieve them by returning to the location of your death after respawning. A pillar of light will appear there. You can also access it and retrieve your items from above. ※This penalty can be changed or removed on the world settings.

The Arena

This facility is located on a remote island in the desert. Team up with your Pals to challenge other Pal Tamers in your world, or face off against powerful NPCs. NPCs of Master rank and beyond are particularly strong. Choose one main Pal and two sub Pals from your five-member team to enter battle. Defeat all of your opponent's Pals or knock out the opposing Tamer to win. Items used and Pals that faint during battle are restored afterward. (Consumable items and weapons using Pal Spheres or stat-boosting effects cannot be used inside the Arena.) Winning earns you RP (Rank Points), and accumulating enough will raise your rank. Losing causes you to lose RP. You can also spectate other players' battles.

Global Palbox

This facility lets players save the genetic data of the Pals stored in the Palbox and reconstruct them from that data. However, more than one Pal with the same genetic data cannot exist in the same world. Saved genetic data can also be transferred to other worlds. ※ World settings may disallow the reconstruction of Pals or the saving of genetic data.

If Stuck in Terrain

If a player becomes stuck in terrain, it's possible to choose Emergency Escape from the Options tab in the menu to purposely die and return to the base. There are also items that allow returning to the base without dying, as well as Pals with the ability to warp to the base, so keep an eye out for them.

Fishing

Equip a fishing rod and select bait from your inventory. At a body of water where you can see fish shadows, ready your rod with and press to cast and start fishing. You can also fish while riding a Pal. When a Pal approaches the bait and the float sinks, press at the right moment to hook it. Once hooked, a minigame will begin. Keep the bar aligned with the fish icon. Hold to move the bar to the right, release to move it left. The fish will resist and move back and forth, so match the bar's movement to it carefully. While the bar overlaps with the fish icon, the capture gauge will fill. When the gauge reaches max, you'll successfully catch the Pal and earn items. Upgrading your fishing rod and bait will give you an edge in the minigame. If fishing feels tricky, craft stronger rods or bait and try again. Certain Pals can also help you fish more effectively, so keep an eye out for them.

Predator Pals

Predator Pals are fearsome Pals that can be found in the field. These Pals are characterized by their large size, extreme aggression, and the red dark aura that surrounds their bodies. Due to this dark aura, they cannot be captured with a Sphere. Make sure to prepare adequately before challenging them.
