Where to find Shadowbeak
Shadowbeak is the PAL Genetic Research Unit tower boss (Victor, recommended level 50), and tower bosses can't be caught during the tower fight. To add one to your team, catch the wild version, which spawns at Lv 50–80 — the spawn map above pins every location.
As a Dark type it's weak to Dragon, so bring Dragon Pals like Jetragon or Jormuntide with Dragon moves. Watch for its Dark Laser, a heavily-telegraphed beam — dodge sideways the moment you see the charge animation.
Modified DNA: a Dark combat mount
Shadowbeak's Modified DNA partner skill lets you ride it as a flying mount with increased movement speed, and enhances Dark attacks by 15% while mounted — a direct damage boost for a Dark-focused loadout.
With 140 defense and 120+ attack it's a durable endgame carry, and it drops high-value crafting materials (Plasteel and Carbon Fiber) plus an Innovative Technical Manual, making the catch worthwhile beyond the Pal itself.
